Description
Lapwing in summer Machair. In Scotland the lapwing likes to make her nest on the ground amongst the Hebridean machair. The long grasses, blooming orchids, red clovers and low growing eye bright are the perfect camouflage for her nest. Eye bright is often used in homeopathic medicine. This lino print was drawn and then hand carved in my Glasgow studio. I hand mixed a pastel blue ink to hand print these onto Japanese Awagami printmaking paper. It measures approximately A3.
