My lino print is called ‘A Superb Owl’ after a hilarious episode of the comedy ‘What We Do in the Shadows, and is based on some drawings I have been making obsessively of owls. I may have mentioned before that I frequently hear an owl or two in the huge tree in our back garden. It is a strangely reassuring noise that makes me feel comfortable and at ease. Knowing that the owls are always there no matter what.
This lino print itself is A4 size on different sizes of paper. It is hand-carved and then hand-burnished by myself in Black Caligo Relief Ink. This is an open edition of the owl on Zerkall’s smooth printmaking paper. I have two currently available measuring 12 x 15.5 inches but can print more to order. This is a lovely, smooth thick German printmaking paper.
