Description
‘Protection’ is an original drypoint print incorporating the geometric Hexafoil symbol observed throughout history. It is a symbol often associated with warding off evil and offering protection. I used a drypoint tool and compass to draw the geometric shape and then used free-form drawing to instinctively add the more organic details you can see in the image.
Drypoint printmaking requires extremely high pressure from an etching press, and every print is unique and ever so slightly different due to the intaglio drypoint process.
