Description
This original drypoint print has been created in honour of the Tree Sparrow. According to the RSPB, Tree Sparrows have been on the Red List for some time. This little one rests on a cherry blossom branch, surveying its surroundings. Printed on Fabriano Unica cotton printmaking paper. I used black Caligo traditional etching ink, then used the Chine Colle technique to add a layer of textured paper to this print. It has been printed on a beautiful Gunning etching press to bring my Tree Sparrow to life.
Drypoint printmaking requires extremely high pressure from an etching press, and every print is unique and ever so slightly different due to the intaglio drypoint process.
