A common frog drypoint print by Artist Collette Howie.
This original drypoint print takes inspiration from a little frog who is living in my tiny wildlife pond this summer. Imagine my delight when, while dreaming the previous night about the pond, I then peeked through the tall grass the next day, only to discover my little visitor! It brings me such joy to look out and observe this tiny creature resting on the rocks. I hope they stay this winter!
Printed on Fabriano Unica cotton printmaking paper. I use green Caligo traditional etching ink on a beautiful Gunning etching press to bring my frog to life.
Drypoint printmaking requires extremely high pressure from an etching press and every print is unique and ever so slightly different due to the intaglio drypoint process.
