Description
Gannets in flight is an original lino print showing the flight path of a gannet hunting.  The Gannet dives gracefully at speeds of up to 68mph into the sea hunting for fish. Scotland has the world’s largest colony of gannets on Bass Rock. Inspiration  comes from a trip to the Isle of Bute watching a gannet dive into a loch for fish.
My process involves drawing the image, then hand carving it onto the lino plate using my tools.  I then ink up the lino plate  and  prints are produced using a Gunning etching press.
