Homesick: Why I live in a shed by Catrina Davies

I saw someone share an article about the woman who wrote this book and I couldn’t help but buy it. I couldn’t put it down. Catrina writes about her own personal journey through the housing crisis with escalating rents and property prices and why she ended up living in a shed. Her style is lively, thoughtful, and beautifully descriptive. Her reconnection with nature and the wild is wonderful. She displays self-sufficiency and tenacity which is admirable and inspirational. Now I don’t think I am going to move into a shed but it is a worthy read reminding me of practicing thankfulness and gratitude for the roof over my head and food in my cupboards. Here is one of my favourite quotes from the book,

‘The human ego is is no match for the equalizing effect of the ocean.’
